Anna Tibblin, Secretary General of the international development organisation We Effect, is participating in the World Forum of Local Economic Development in Seville. She will speak at the event Community-led localization of the UN Agenda 2030: evidence from coop4dev about how cooperation and locally driven change contribute to the global sustainability goals.
Signed between the EU and the International Cooperative Alliance in 2016 and renewed in 2024, #coops4dev is an international development program aimed at promoting the contribution of cooperatives in the implementation of the UN SDGs. The decentralized nature of the program responds to the Forum’s call for a sustainable territorial approach, led and centered on the community, featuring regional examples. Through regional experiences, the session will demonstrate how cooperatives are pioneers in localizing the SDGs worldwide by acting locally in the proximity economy, while addressing current global challenges.
